HANDSTAND FACTORY

The Handstand Factory courses by Emmet Louis and Mikael Kristiansen combine the long tradition of handbalancing training from a circus perspective with a modern understanding of biomechanics, contemporary sport science and modern research into flexibility development for adults. Each program achieves this with hours of high quality in depth videos, complimented by a thorough manual that covers all further theory on both handbalancing and flexibility training, sample programs and important insights into building an autonomous handbalancing practice.

Push

The Push program is designed to take you from absolutely no handbalancing experience to a comfortable, straight two arm handstand. Starting with physical preparation and basic conditioning for wrists, forearms and shoulders all the way to learning how to kick up and exit safely out of a freestanding handstand.

Keep Pushing

The Keep Pushing program is designed to take you from a rather comfortable, straight two arm handstand to finding, and sticking, the basic shapes of handbalancing: Tuck, Straddle and Pike handstand. We teach handbalancing using a technique that is expansive, it leads to a structure that is efficient and elegant and can be used to develop towards the higher level skills, for example the one arm handstand.

Press

The Press program is designed to teach you the necessary strength, flexibility and coordination to achieve the straddle and pike press to handstand (basic), as well as the stalder press to handstand (advanced).

HSPU

The HSPU program is designed to teach you the full range, freestanding handstand push-up. In our approach, we look at the handstand push-up as a movement requiring both precision and skill as much as strength. Our approach is to start with simple set-ups, then slowly increase capacity and then introduce more variables. We begin with building a base of strength and awareness of the required shoulder positions, and then introduce free balancing movements. Then, once sufficient skill has been gained, we start using the free balancing movements as strength exercises.

Push Harder

The Push Harder program is designed to take you from a comfortable two arm handstand to a straddle one arm handstand. We teach the one arm handstand using a technique that is expansive - it leads to a structure that is efficient and elegant and can be used to develop towards the higher level skills.

grip

The grip program is designed to work as supplementary physical preparation for someone working on handbalancing as a skill. It can also benefit any person engaging in a practice where the hands are supporting and controlling weight.
